We listen to you, apply our expertise, research and create bespoke material to suit you and your organisation. We are responsive in our delivery and pricing to ensure wider reach and access.

Capacity Building and Inclusive Practice
Capacity building for third sector organisations who want inclusive practice to be structural and culturally responsive, not aspirational or tick boxy – from policies to lasting action.

For third sector organisations who want inclusive practice built into how they operate, not bolted on afterwards.

We help charities and third-sector organisations embed inclusive, accessible and culturally responsive practice across their policies, leadership, services and organisational culture.
Â
Support can include equality audits, policy and procedure development, leadership training and longer-term change programmes. Where cost is a barrier, we can offer grant-funded or sliding-scale delivery so that smaller organisations can access meaningful support.

What this looks like in practice: a focused audit that tells you honestly where the gaps are; policy work that reflects how your organisation actually operates, not a generic template; training that people remember because it was built around your context, not lifted from a slide deck.

Equity-Centred Leadership Development

Leadership and inclusion mentoring, coaching and one-to-one development to develop confidence and lead with equity seriously rather than talk about it.

For senior decision-makers and managers who want to lead differently, not just talk about leading differently.

Our equity-centred leadership development combines group learning with confidential one-to-one mentoring.

Leaders build and apply inclusive decision-making frameworks, equity impact assessment and practical methods for interrupting unconscious bias where it affects resourcing, recruitment, promotion and whose voice carries weight.

The result is greater confidence to make accessible, accountable decisions rather than treating inclusion as a separate initiative.

What this looks like in practice: leaders who can name their own blind spots without becoming defensive about them, and who leave with frameworks they'll actually use six months later.

The Lived Experience Library
Our evidence base of intersectional stories, built with and for the diverse under-represented communities it represents.

The Lived Experience Library is The Setu CIC's developing community-led digital archive of intersectional life stories from marginalised and under-represented people.
Co-designed with the communities whose knowledge it holds, it is being built as an accessible UK and international resource for funders, policymakers, educators, researchers, practitioners and organisational leaders.

Our aim is to develop a distinctive alternative to extractive research: a living evidence base that values contributors' agency, connects lived experience with decision-making and directs community benefit back to the people represented.

Trauma-Informed Practice and Mental Health Literacy

Trauma-informed mental health literacy workshops online for individuals and organisations serving under-represented communities carrying real weight.

For individuals and organisations serving communities carrying the mental health impact of discrimination, exclusion, and multiple disadvantage - and for the staff and leaders trying to support them well.

We build and deliver accessible workshops, peer-support facilitation and organisational capacity building grounded in evidence-based therapeutic knowledge.

Our approach helps staff and leaders recognise the mental health effects of discrimination, exclusion and multiple disadvantage, respond more safely and make trauma-informed practice visible in everyday services—not only in a values statement.

Accessibility
Accessibility is not an add-on to our work; it shapes how The Setu CIC is designed and how we deliver.

As disabled practitioners, we build accessibility into our planning, communication, facilitation and follow-through from the outset.
We deliver sessions in shorter formats, provide materials in multiple formats, and can arrange captioning, transcription and BSL interpretation on request — just ask.

If something on this site isn't working for you, or you need information in a different format, tell us.
We'd genuinely rather know.
